The Comfy Place Coffeehouse opened its doors on April 12, 2006, in the great community of Bloomer, Wisconsin. We are very proud of our efforts to bring quality coffee drinks to this area, and we are always striving to learn more and make our products better.
This coffeehouse is the culmination of 16 months worth of hard work. It all started with the 2 of us sitting in a coffeeshop in Minneapolis at the end of December, 2004. We both loved to have these different kind of coffee drinks, but we always needed to go outside of the area in order to get them. Because of this, we rarely indulged in lattés, cappuccinos, italian sodas, and other delicious drinks. Sitting in that coffeeshop that afternoon, we discussed the idea of opening a coffeehouse in Bloomer. We looked around at everyone enjoying their drinks, some of them reading a book, others discussing various topics, even a few playing a game of cards. 'This is exactly what Bloomer needs!', we agreed. And from there, the project took off.
We worked on the business plan during our spare time, as we both still had our regular jobs. Amy used to work for Walgreen's as an Assistant Store Manager, and Darren used to work for Menards as their E-Commerce Manager. Both of us left our previous jobs in order to pursue our entrepreneurial dream, and we've never looked back. We love working at our new "job", and look forward to serving the community the great drinks each and every day. We hope that you will enjoy your time in our coffeehouse, and that you might even meet some new friends. We want to be that proverbial "third place" that's not home and not work, the place that you come to relax and have a great time.
